[quote=dafry;34448224]i am at work at the moment and do not have access to the 50 meg trial forum....i am sure that the team who are running this trial have asked that we keep speedtest results solely to the 50 meg forums...i shall read thru this when i get home to clarify, as im sure you will understand i dont want to do anything to upset them after being given this chance to participate in the trial.
HeHe good one,i guess if you was put on a lie detector,it would blow up.

Yeah I'm always suspicious of people who claim things and then have a convenient excuse for not providing proof...
Susan has a very valid reason to be suspicious, we all do.

So what? There is such a thing as coincidence. Maybe he doesn't even know how to do a speedtest and is too shy to admit it xD

lol
if you think about it VM has every reason to tell their trialists to keep quiet about trial details, it is a product that is still in development after all !

Re: 20mb v's 50mb..............????
I suppose, but it can't exactly be top secret when you think about it, and I doubt they would actually tell their customers to 'be quiet'. Imagine the response to that... Either way, why don't I live in a trial area :'(

Well of course, if you knew anything about the trials, you'd knowing posting any info about it, or links, or speedtest results, can, indeed get you taken off the trials.
VM are very hush hush about this sort of thing.

I'm surprised they should be so hush hush about it. Why exactly are they, if you know?

All companies keep research and development secret until it's officially launched, mainly because they dont want the competition knowing too much about it, and if there are any problems (bearing in mind its a trial) they can fix them without the bad PR that comes with it.

That proves my point even more.
If VM are being hush-hush about it, their NDA would state that anyone on the trial shouldn't even make mention to outsiders that they're on the trial.
That's how an NDA usually works, not only can you not divulge information about what you're testing (be it a service, a piece of software or a game, etc.) but you can't divulge information that you're even taking part.
That's why I'm suspicious. I've been an internet user for over 10 years and people have done this time and time again. There's no proof, and he can't divulge information about it (and shouldn't even make mention that he's taking part in it), so why bother mentioning it at all other than to get attention?

The trials are widely known, its not in the NDA to admit your on the trial.
Only to disclose information on the specifications of it.
It's only VM staff who get hit hard with the NDA though, and that, can get you sacked.

Fair enough, I was going off the standard closed MMO Beta style of NDA, they're widely known also but they're off limits to mention you're taking part of them (well, some of them anyways).
Still, if VM are confident in their 50mb product, you'd think that they'd like a few people to spread the love a little.
Which areas are currently taking part in the trials anyways?
