Power levels wrong?

Around 3 weeks ago we had an outage in Stoke and i had no connection for 4 days. Ever since that my modem has been going mad, by this i mean the sync light will flash for hours and hours meaning no connection.

When my connection finally comes back the speeds i get are atrocious,on usenet i have to have 20 connections just to get 1.4mb/s.

Test 1: 1024K took 1722 ms = 594.7 KB/sec, approx 4900 Kbps, 4.79 Mbps
Test 2: 1024K took 1141 ms = 897.5 KB/sec, approx 7395 Kbps, 7.22 Mbps
Test 3: 1024K took 1127 ms = 908.6 KB/sec, approx 7487 Kbps, 7.31 Mbps
Test 4: 2048K took 4033 ms = 507.8 KB/sec, approx 4184 Kbps, 4.09 Mbps
I check my power levels on the modem and they are:

Downstream Receive Power Level : -20.0 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 27.2 dB
Upstream transmit Power Level : 60.3 dBmV

Re: Power levels wrong?

Your upstream is at its limit, your down stream power level is way too low. SNR is fine though.

Nope you'vr got serious problems there, upstream and downstream levels are way out of spec, and the SNR IS a problem as well, that should be about 33-35dB.

Check all your internal wiring, the connectors are tight, no damage to any cabling. If you don't find any issues then you need to call and get someone out.
