Angry New Modem Worst !!!!

Hi all

I have been having problems with my 20 mb connection and after a number of calls to tech support and tests an 'engineer' called today.

Basically said you need a new modem.....plugged it in and said wait 30 mins and all should be ok

Now I am back up and running I have gone from about 9/8 mb down to 1mb !!!!

I don't know why I tried !

SO SO HAPPY..............

Just rebooted every thing and I am now getting this..........

Mon, 19 Nov 2007 10:43:26 UTC

1st 512K took 203 ms = 2522.2 KB/sec, approx 20783 Kbps, 20.3 Mbps
2nd 512K took 219 ms = 2337.9 KB/sec, approx 19264 Kbps, 18.81 Mbps
3rd 512K took 203 ms = 2522.2 KB/sec, approx 20783 Kbps, 20.3 Mbps
4th 512K took 219 ms = 2337.9 KB/sec, approx 19264 Kbps, 18.81 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 20024 Kbps, 19.56 Mbps

So gone from a large sliver modem where I was always getting around 5-8 mbs to a smaller black one and now getting just under 20mbs.

So based on this it worth putting a call in .

Totally..................but very happy now.

Another point was made ...............to ensure people use the correct power pack with the modem supplied. Engineer said some people just plug the old power (with the same connector) into a new modem which does cause problem with lack of preformance. Still getting
