Hi All

returned to virgin after a year away battling bt and eclipse , signed up for 20 mb yet it does not seem that fast. As a simple lad can somone explain how i get the best out of my service .

And i mean it when i say simple

well VM have a policy that u can cancle ur contract with in 28day and get ur money bak watever u paied. thats ONLY if u are under 28days eg. u can also call on the 27th day to cancle.

if u r above that 28days like me and wish to cancle like me, i cant say yet coz i will be doing that probary 2night and will let u know wats said and done with VM.
for ref i am on my 2nd month of my 12 month contract

nice and cheers for the help.

downloaded 40mb speed around 1mb/s which i konw is good but the first time i have seen it that high. Usually avereage around 40kb/s

modem is brandless - virgin media - 6 lights from left to right power,enet,send,recv,sync,ready

have also noticed theat the connection appears to be intermitent.

have virus and spyware scanned and cleared all history etc

i will not be offended if i have done something wrong my self.

can proudly say that i have tried that link and also installed the tcp optimiser

and have noticed no diffeerence , but thanks anyway

when u say 1mb do u mean 100KB/s or 1000KB/s

are you using a wireless router if you are try testing the modem connect straight to your pc

Sorry meant 1000kb/s and modem is wired into wireless (for lads laptop) and then ethernet cable to pc
