This 20 meg service is a JOKE

Im sure half ther problems are due to the crap modems ( i have the silver thing ).

My brother has the ambit 250 and has good speeds in the reading area and his internet seems more responsive than mine.

Mine seems sluggish,slow, and the download never ever reaches 20 meg.

Im on the phone to these basts tommorow and if they dont replace the modem they can come and take the TV, Phone and Internet out and shove it up their arses.

Im am sick to death of Virgin Media, couple that with the muppets you speak to when you ring up customer services and this could well be the worst service i have ever paid for in my life.

I would calm down before you speak with the CS, as they will not be willing to help you. Agreed its not just you getting the full service quite a few people, give them a ring and get an engineer round, if everyone did they Virgin will get the message and do something about it.

i know what your saying but i have had engineers out before ( fat idiots who know sod all what they are doing ).

Im not prepared to pay Virgin 37 quid a month for a service im not getting.

BT is where my money will be going next, yes its not as fast maybe but at least with BT you are sure of a decent service ( some of my friends are with them and have no complaints).

Virgin have had months to sort this crap out yet they still have their heads up their arses and dont give a crap about their customers.

The day Virgin go down the pan is the day i laugh my head off.

Down to 400k of an evening where I live. Thanks to blanket selling to students with no care for how it cripples the service. It amuses me, as I mentioned in another thread, how people can claim if VM give discounts they have less cash to invest. I mean come on. Investment is an alien concept to VM.

They sell a 20meg service and expect me to swallow that 400k ish is "up to 20meg". Forgetting of course that the 400k is costing me way more than other providers would charge.

I thought things were getting better since the upgrade, but it seems I was actually right about it going to pot once the students near me were back after the summer holidays. My cousin is on SKY and very happy with it.

Before the VM apologists say SKY speed may fluctuate or not be up to 20meg. Well, shock horror, it can be had for what £10 per month? I know which is better value in my eyes thanks very much.

Thats very clever and big of you, calling us muppets and fat idiots. Who have you actually spoken to? If you were ranting on at them as much as you are on here then no wonder you are getting nowhere. Treat others how you wish to be treated yourself fella. You would be surprised how far that would go. Lets say you went to a fish and chip shop and didn't get enough chips and you started calling them fat idiots. You would either get barred from the shop or a damned good kicking mate!! If you asked for a few more chips, you would get them. So ease off the name calling, yea?

You say you have the silver modem, which model is this? Look under the modem and it should tell you. Some modems don't fully support the 20Mb

But seriously, shouting your head off down the phone isn't going to get you much is it? It's clear that you're frustrated and angry, just be calm with the person you are speaking too. If you get offshore, I know this can be hard, but you really need to try. How many techs have you had? What have they said to you needs doing????

I didnt aim it at members here, the few engineers i have had have arrived at my house, sat in their vans for half hour eating, strolled to my door, came in, chatted balls about football and how much they like beer, listened to my problem, walked very slowly to the green box down the road, came back and said "everything seems ok".

Then they go outside sit in the van for another half hour and leave.

This is exactly how all enginners that i have had out have acted.

If you have a ntl home 100 120 and i have seen some 200 having problems with 20 meg then it should be changed .But i do not like being called a fat idiot this is wrong to call techs this

You need to realise that members here can also work for VM. You call one, you might aswell call them all. If you want help from staff on this forum, or indeed anyone for that matter, then I would tread carefully on your next post and what you call people. Which series modem do you have? (as I said, look underneath it and it should say)

I must admit my rock solid connection in the past few weeks has slowed to down to an average 5Mbit connection if that, I always used to praise Virgin for their top quality service and hope things improve otherwise I will be off too!

Another night of horrilble gaming due to my crap connection at the time it was running around 1mb (i am on 20mb service) its gone back up to around 9mb now but its abit late. Anyhow BT installed my new line today new isp next week.....

Its a real shame as Andy said i used to praise them for there BB service.

I was speaking to a guy i know who works for Virgin he deals with the servers etc and he said exactly the same since virgin took over its gone to ****. They got rid of all the telewest managers and give NTL the reigns. He also said there is a new tarrif being trialed soon 2mb down and 2mb up i thought he was joking at first. Apparently they have collected customer data and we dont need anymore than 2mb down. Sham of a company....

Why are people so annoyed with him? Loads of the engineers (bar 2 who were brilliant) have been rubbish for me aswell. He did no tar them all with the same brush he said "he has had engineers who are fat idiots" A complete over reaction calling his attitude vile He has had a shoddy broadband service, a shoddy customer service and shoddy engineers and you want him to come here and not tell the truth? People are annoyed that they are paying good money for a naff service and then getting binned off and told to call a 25p a minute helpline that will keep you on hold and tell you to restart your modem and tell you it must be your fault as there system is saying your connection is fine. Its Virgin Medias attitude to its customers that is vile...
