Connection drop offs

Hi. For about a month now ive been randomly loosing connection. Sometimes it seems to be DNS like symptoms, other times it just cuts out totally. Has anyone else had issues in Harrogate, Leeds area?

xx.x.xx.xx which resolves to cpc4-harg1-0-0-custxxx.leed.cable.ntl.com. You do not appear to be using a proxy server. We can also tell from your IP address that you are located in United Kingdom based on information from the IP-to-Country Database provided by WebHosting.Info.

Re: Connection drop offs

I don't have an answer to your post yet, but you may want to delete part of the reverse lookup on your IP address as well.

Are you connecting directly to your modem, or do you have a router inline?

Could you share detail of how I check or even go about doing this?

Re: Odd connection issues

I've been getting the same thing, periodically; "error loading page" and the odd 404.

Here's the OpenDNS site, it has walkthroughs showing you exactly how to change your DNS settings.

Re: Odd connection issues

yes, I am also in Harrogate and have similar issues with pages failing to load as well as xbox360 gaming being impossible due to terrible lag (ping tests, which I know people on here say mean nothing..., show huge latency at the fist hop once per minute almost like clockwork - whether via a router or direct ... )

In some ways im happy to hear this, I didnt wanna have to test everything one at a time as I work from home and any time faffing with this is costing me ££.

It sounds as if you are having identical issues to me, im postcode HG1 4, where are you?
