RP614v4 router problems

Just got VM installed this week, set up a netgear RP614v4 router and everything worked just fine.

The next time i tried to get connected, the router refused to connect to the modem, i have worked my way through all the router help files and tried everything they suggest, but still no luck.

Netgear are trying to get me going, but so far everything they have instructed me to do has failed to get me connected.

So far, i have tried 2 PC's and a laptop, started modem, router, PC in the correct order, i have even entered all the data in the config file by hand, i'm starting to think i have a faulty router.

Has anyone had problems using this type of router ?.

Any advise would be most welcome.

Yes, works fine just using the modem.

As i said, Netgear are trying to help without any luck so far, i have also tried everything in the router help files.

My guess is that the router has a fault. Time to send the darn thing back for a replacement.

long shot....if theres an option in the routers settings for spoof this mac address or similar try with the option on.

Thanks for the replies,

i have tried spoofing the MAC, even that failed. Netgear tech support have been trying since last Tuesday to sort out the problem, now they are just sending me round in a loop.

Time to bite the bullet and buy a new one, as i have spent far too much time messing around.
