Couple of things to check

If you are getitng slow speed first couple of this to check are

http://www.virginmedia.com/help/20mb...timisation.php
use a tcp tool and she if that makes adifferent and also changed the settings on the network card

if you are using a router check the speed with out the router

clean your system of spyware and virus

dont use speedtests on the web they arent that good use a ftp like gamefiles@blueyonder.co.uk

check that you nic card is 100mbps

and finally if your using a usb connection and are on 20mb you may find that the speed will be really low due to usb cant handle more that 12 mb

if anyones got any more tips please add
