Connecting to a certain website
Hello,
The last week or so i am unable to connect to the official norwich city website. its www.canaries.premiumtv.co.uk.
I used to be able to do no problems. Ive not amended or touched anything on my computer.
All i get is the i.e window saying cannot connect to this website.
All the footy clubs have the same manufacturer of the website, and i am unable to access any of them either.
I have checked my blocked websites and its not in there.
Ive deleted my i.e history and cookies.. still no joy.
Anyone got any idea or a way round it please..
ta

Re: Connecting to a certain website
at the same command prompt type
telnet www.canaries.permiumtv.co.uk 80
press return.
does it connect? If not, what is the error message?
Have you got any firewall software in place? Tried disabling this? Connecting using a router or directly to the cable modem?

Re: Connecting to a certain website
Thanks all for the advice.
My ip address starts with 192.168.
If i try to ping www.canaries.premiumtv.co.uk in a cmd window it comes back with "ping request could not find host www.canaries.premiumtv.co.uk. Please check the name and try again."
if i try telnet www.canaries.permiumtv.co.uk 80, the reply is could not connect to the host on port 80: connect failed
any more ideas gratefully received
thanks

Re: Connecting to a certain website
thanks for your advice mr mistoffelees.
when i try to ipconfig /flushdns it fails.. says could not flush the dns resolver cache - function failed during execution.
i can ping 84.53.178.58 and that work fine with no packets lost

Re: Connecting to a certain website
ok drop down to a command prompt again and type the following
netsh int ip reset > reset.txt
if any error messages post them up here, if not reboot and try again
Also, if it fails from command prompt enter the following (THE FOLLOWING MAKES CHANGES TO THE REGISTRY BE CAREFUL TO TYPE IT EXACTLY AS I HAVE SHOWN)
REG ADD HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dnscache /V Start /T REG_DWORD /F /D 2
