Wireless router problems please help

I have a lap top (notebook) I have had it wireless for about 4 months i went away for 2 weeks when i come back it was still working but then it stopped! So i tried to fix it, set it all back up on both ends, When i connect it says Internet connection is working fine but i still can't get online after a few minutes it says limited or no connection.
My router it quite old i bought it of ebay about 9 months ago but it looks like its working properly i don't want to buy a new one if that's not the problem. Any suggestions i would be grateful

I’m not a tech person just someone who has a wireless network. From what you say I would look at changing the channel your network is using. Failing that I would work backwards by connecting your modem direct to your laptop then work out so you can confirm the connections.

Check the channel first,,, have you got a new mobile phone, house phone or it could be your neighbours causing the problem for you or lastly your unit has gone US.

Hope this helps if not post back and a real tech person will help
