Modem Reset

I have a PC with XP and Laptop with Vista.

Everytime i plug the latop via ethernet into the modem i have to reset the modem because i wont get an internet connection.

What can i do that this doesnt happen?

You have to reset to allow the new CPE to be registered to the network.

You could buy a router to allow both computers access. Be sure to get a cable/dsl router if your going to go down that route.
