hadaway is an unknown quantity at this point
installing new modem

Hi.I recently bought a motorola surfboard sb5101 and i was wanting to use it istead of my ntl modem does anybody know how i would install it. thanks a lot

No chance - you can only legitimately use the Virgin Media (ex ntl) modems on cable. This forum will not support any discussion of how to obtain services without a subscription. If your current modem is inadequate, and you are subscribed, then contact Virgin Media who will resolve the problem as part of your service.

Chances are the modem you have aquired was not the sellers property as modems are rented to cable customers - you should return it to the seller as you are probably handling stolen goods
