Uncapping a modem (I dont want to do this)
I work for virgin media and my team mate here had a customer say that he can uncap his cable modem but wouldnt he get caught doing this as I am sure the law on this is a big NO NO just wondering?

It is certainly against VMs terms and conditions, and may be counted (by the law) as theft of service.

if your ex-ntl, send a email to aup@ntl.com ( itl get to the new vm aup) with the account details & a brief description of what the customer told you or if your ex telewest, go to your process library off oneline & look for Abuse, then follow the instructions...

Yep. There is the minor issue that you then need to hack into your uBR as it's actually the device that polices your download speeds, not your modem

I want to add that VM staff know how to tackle this problem but VM's management is not that good to take their advice
