Re: Anyone on the 20mbit/s yet?
I have the upgrade (Farnborough) though not been able to get anywhere near maximum speed yet. Tried torrents, multi-source downloading, and I can just about get to where I was before (10 mbit) though speed seems more fluxy.
Edit: Just tried an ubuntu iso download from University of Kent mirror, and hit a sustained 2.4MB/s, quite impressive!
Edit 2:

No the trials where a few month back. This is the start of the rollout, not more testing this close to the rollout.

So,your saying that only the Liverpool area is being upgraded Tuesday?
Care to give a link to where that information is found as of yet no-one on here knows what the hell is going off or who is being upgraded first.
If you give the link to http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html.../q2/speed.html or http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html...d_rollout.html then i think you should go look at both pages as no-where does it say who or when we are going to be upgraded first.Sorry if this sounds like I'm getting onto you but with no information available yet about what areas are going to be done first and the constant posting of the same pages we all know about then why keep telling people its a trial when we have seen on here in other posts the roll out to certain areas.Trials are just that,Even Virgin aren't going to trial a product 1-2 days before supposed release.

Re: Anyone on the 20mbit/s yet?
I'll be interested to hear from anyone in Manchester who gets the upgrade and sees a significant increase. I noticed in the small print that they have a "get out clause" for areas with capacity problems.
Seeing as I live in a student heavy area, and my speeds barely go above 500k of an evening I suspect I will still be paying the same for people getting possibly 4 times the speed!
Does anyone know if the NTL:200 modem is capable of 20meg by the way? Cheers.
Edit: just seena thread stating that the modem may be up to the job. Time will tell.
