Re: Anyone on the 20mbit/s yet?
20mb in Worthing now.
Although I'm only getting 10mb according to speedtest
Gonna test with dap
---------- Post added at 00:09 ---------- Previous post was yesterday at 23:58 ----------
Ok can't get DAP working on Vista 64
Date 27/06/07 00:05:18
Speed Down 9832.22 Kbps ( 9.6 Mbps )
Speed Up 717.81 Kbps ( 0.7 Mbps )
Port 8095
Server speedtest1.adslguide.org.uk
This was the test I ran
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedt...645026741.html
Broadbandmax has similiar results
http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk/res...9211&v=1671849
Although I am on Wireless, I wonder if that effects it?
I've got a Very good signal and the router is a 54g one
So I should be getting more than 20mb right?

Re: Anyone on the 20mbit/s yet?
I am in Dartford, kent. I was on 10 then upgraded to 20mb a month or so ago. My connection has kept dropping over the last 2 weeks at night and the weekends when I could not get any connection at all. Then this morning I was told by an engineer that came around my house that the reason for this was that the 20mb service was the problem and they did not know when they would get it fixed. So now I have dropped to 4mb just to get a connect at peak times. I will keep this until or if Virgin ever get it fixed. Nice no one told about this till now after all the calls i have made to report the problem.

Re: Anyone on the 20mbit/s yet?
Went on the 20mbit Tuesday (cambridge).
Running through the NTL 200 modem alone I get good speeds, alas running it via the SMC7004ABR router, the speed for download goes to = 10mbit but the upload is higher. Downloading a large file in newsbin gives a good indication of speed as does Netmeter. Speedtest.net not that acurate.
Any body have any ideas as to why the router is slow? and is 10/100.

According to this the problem is that the WAN port is only 10BaseT, only the LAN ports are 10/100

Re: Anyone on the 20mbit/s yet?
Thanks slowcoach.....seems you may have hit the nail on head, although this bit is from the manual.
WAN Interface 10/100BASE-T, 1 RJ-45 port
Serial, 1 RS232 DB-9 connector
LAN Interface 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Printer Interface Parallel
Looks like I will need a better routerfast co

I think that's the router I had -- I couldn't get past 7mb with it when I moved to 10 mb. Had to get a new one.
