I have an old SB4100 modem. I take it this wont take the upgrade. Can i ask for a new modem yet if not?

you can ask for one but they will probably try to charge you ..just kick up a fuss and threaten to go to sky and they will soon relent...

pretty sure the motorola sb4100 can handle speeds up to 38mbit so you should be fine in my estimation

Dartford area

According to modem reading it has been upgraded (2048)but now the speed has decreased from 13mb to 579kps?

I really wouldn't trust that site for speedtests. I can decent results from various sites and tests, but on that site it always shows bad speeds.

I asked them that question about my SB4100. They never actually answered it, just said someone would be out Tuesday to fit a new one. (No charge.)

99.9% sure surfboard sb4100 can handle 20mbit fine...even upto 38mbit but if theyre offerring a upgrade for free then that can only be a good thing what with the 50mbit trials in the future...if not free then i advise you wait to confirm sb4100 can handle your 20mbit..i see no reason why it cant...38mbit down and 10mbit up max

Upgrades start on tuesday folks there will be no change untill then and it will only be a few UBR's per week
