I agree. Let's just place enough bets on wether this thread will reach 1000, so it can reach 1000.

...that's if you're lucky enough to live next door to the exchange... and if BT decide to temporarily cut you off, you could be without broadband for 10 days whilst the line is reprovided.
The key words with ADSL are "up to". I can only get a max of 5.5Mbsp here, whereas with cable I can get... well, whatever I can get (currently 10, soon to be 20). Of course, cable is also "up to" some of the time (like the 16/20Mbps thing), but the technology (and having only 1 company involved) seems to make it much more stable.
I;d never touch ADSL because I work for a company who deal with it
Still on 10Mbps in Teesside

Re: Anyone on the 20mbit/s yet?
Oldham exchange is BE enabled, they say I can get 2meg here but they couldn't provide me with 1 meg in the past. Complete waste of time BE enabling the exchange, it's right in the town centre where no-one lives, hey, perhaps they thought the market stallholders would sign up.

Re: Anyone on the 20mbit/s yet?
I live in the Bromley area which according to the schedule is already completed. The strange thing is that in the last week or so, I had speeds of between 1 and 2 MBit. I am on the 10 MBit package. Being very busy last week and also thinking that maybe the speed reduction was down to upgrade work Virgin was doing, I did not bother complaining.
Today however my download speeds are back to 10 MBit but no 20Mbit. Do i have to do anything to enable it? I have only been with virgin or 2 months so I presume I have an up to date cable router, am using a linksys wrt54 with DD-wrt firmware
please help
