You shouldnt do that it creates problems for the UBR when you do. we can no longer do it from the software we have here it changes then changes back, forcing the modem to reboot.

this is interesting..on the news groups..i managed to find this..this is a bit urgent in it!! theyve not done everyone yet and they have already updated there faq`s!

36. What are the current maximum speeds for each broadband service?
The current maximum speeds for the Virgin Media broadband services are:
Service nameUp to Speeds
without traffic management
DownloadUploadBroadband Size: M2 Mb or 256 KB 256 Kb or 32 KB Broadband Size: L4 Mb or 512 KB 384 Kb or 48 KB Broadband Size: XL20 Mb or 2560 KB 768 Kb or 96 KB Service nameUp to Speeds

If your XL service has not been upgraded to 20Mb, please check here to see when your area is scheduled to be upgraded. There are no changes to the M & L services. A Press report can be found here.
News Flash: In some areas, where the network has capacity restrictions, speeds of up to 16Mb may only be achievable. See here for details

Re: Anyone on the 20mbit/s yet?

Hey all im new here, ive been browsing these forums for the past few days to see if anybody got the 20mb upgrade in my area and i was left out.

anyways the point to my post is, I live in the liverpool area, and I was just on the phone to VM calling about a problem which has now been resolved.
The guy on the phone told me the Liverpool area should expect their upgrade from the 11th of may onwards and not before.

just thought I'd let you all know.

regards
Futard
