Safe to use p2p file sharing clients?

Hi,

I was just wondering wether a throtting would be imposed on my generall service if I use BitTorrent?

If so, would this be a permanent restriction, or just for the time I use the client?

Michael

Re: Safe to use p2p file sharing clients?

Depends on the area where you live and the traffic in that area. Realistically throttling is more an more likely if you push the the limits, stick well within your own bandwidth and you're less likely to trigger it.

Much of the throttling trials seem to be limited to peak hour use 4pm to 12pm after which time you seem to get reset in use.

TBH if using torrents keep to off peak times so it doesn't affect your own and others connections.
