No. You cannot buy a modem from anyone (that included eBay as they just won't work). The modems are the property of VirginMedia and they loan them to you for the length of your contract.

No but you can get one free when you sign up for Virgin's Internet...

i just wondered i could as mine is not very good, and they will not replace it
as tech says it ok even though the people a thecincal support say it is faulty
and if i have them come out again for the same thing i will be charged Â£75,
