No. You cannot buy a modem from anyone (that included eBay as they just won't work). The modems are the property of VirginMedia and they loan them to you for the length of your contract.

as tech says it ok even though the people a thecincal support say it is faulty
and if i have them come out again for the same thing i will be charged £75,
