Installation question.

OK so I have my cable modem installed downstairs in my lounge. I have a ntl cable point installed in my room from the previous owners installation. When i plug my modem into this cable point nothing happens. Is there anyway I can get this to work with my modem?

thanks, Tom

Re: Installation question.

You would have to have an engineer in to re-connect the second point. Wireless is probably a better option to be honest.

Yeah, I have wireless, but it is too slow for some reason. Only way I can see to solve my problem.

Have you considered using a pair of HomePlug devices?

Turn any Electrical Socket into a Network Port
Electrical power is supplied and distributed around your house at 50Hz. However, the wires are actually capable of carrying a range of other frequencies which can be 'tuned-in' using appropriate equipment. Powerline technology takes advantage of this unused bandwidth of the electrical wiring in the home.
