Telewest Timeout

Hi

Does Telewest Broadband have some type of idle timeout?

I work for a small company that has a number of remote users accessing our systems through various ISPs but seem to have a problem with two that use Telewest. They are running a web interface that generates a report for them (the processing is server side) and both these users end up waiting for ages and never getting their report whereas other users have no problem.

Any suggestions would be welcome

Martin (newbie to the forum)

Re: Telewest Timeout

Off the top of my head the only thing I can think of is the DHCP lease.
If you could give some more info that would be great!

What info do you need?

Would the DHCP lease not affect all browsing - it only seems to be running these Business Objects report through the web interface. Other users with different ISPs can run the same reports without a problem.

Re: Telewest Timeout

Indeed DHCP lease would affect all browsing.
So if this application is as you say web based, and uses port 80 like a browser the even a firewall shouldn't block it.

If you would like you could message me a link to this application and I can take a look at it.
I know blueyonder don't block ports. ( or so I'm told )

Thanks for the offer but you would need to be set up with an account on our VPN before you would be able to access it. I am with NTL cable and don't have a problem it is just the two users that are on TeleWest cable that do. Even our few AOL users are able to run the reports
