Qam256 in Peterborough??

Hi everyone! this is my first proper post, other than in the new users bit!

I just wandered about Qam256, I know a biot about it, but my question is, can we get it for the SACM? I have been into the settings of my STB (using the engineers setup) and I have set that to use Qam256, but when I login to the modem config, it says its only Qam64...

If the STB can use it, then im assuming that it has been upgraded, and this being the case, how do I get my SACM to use it as Im constantly having crappy speeds morning, day & night on my "10mb" service!

Also, does anyone know when Peterborough will have the 20mb broadband?

Thanks for your time and replies in advance :-)

Arty.

Simple answer

No you cannot set it, its set by the network. Its not user configurable.

Long answer

If you mess your set top up and then need a engineer out to fix it don't complain when they bill you for the call out. Engineers menu means just that. Don't mess with it.

If you are having issues with your broadband then contact NTL and ask for a engineer to check it.

Re: Qam256 in Peterborough??

Thanks Bill C, I understand that! I just changed it to see what it did then I put it back again!

Would I have to call up NTL or anyone to benefit from Qam256? Im feeling really optimistic that the upgrade would make my internet work how it should and would save my hair from being ripped out on another call to "Technical support" in india!
