How to upgrade to 10Meg?
Have got a recently installed modem (December) and have recently upgraded tp 4 Meg, which is excellent. I'd like to go up to 10meg. Will I need an engineer to come round? If not, how do I upgrade. New to all this cable stuff!

Depends on what modem you have, do you know the model number? Could just be a case of calling CS to upgrade.

He could upgrade there but if he is on a certain modem he will be paying for a speed he won't be getting.

Yeah your right Paul, but I was just thinking if he got his modem installed in December, he would already have the latest modem.

Re: How to upgrade to 10Meg?
Thanks, guys. It's a small black modem which is held upright by a nifty black plastic bracket. Which would that be? Installed mid-December.

Oops! Forgot to ask if the 10meg service is stable/reliable in the SE London area. I'm very near (3 miles) the Bromley offices, by the way. Anyone know? I've read on this forum that in some areas it's slow and unreliable. If so, I'll stick with my 3.9 meg that I got this morning over wireless from downstairs - not bad eh?

Does it look like this: ntl:250 modem
If it does look like the pictures in the link, then you have the latest modem which is definitely capable of 10mb.
I'm not sure if the 10mb speed is reliable in that area - hopefully someone else will reply soon

Doesn't always work that way Refurbs get used where possible to keep costs down. Depends on what the installer has in his van.

You may be able to upgrade from that link, but you may have to wait 30 days between changing services. It only takes a matter of seconds to be upgraded that way, atleast it did for me.
Depending on what your room lighting looks like it might look black but i'm pretty sure it's dark blue. Looking at mine now i'm convinced it's black, but i know it's not.
Good luck with your 10mbit upgrade and i hope you don't have speed problems.

Re: How to upgrade to 10Meg?
You can only change package once in any 30 day period I think
