Think my internet is broke!

Having a bit of a strange time at the moment with my 10mb access....its slower than dial up yet everything was fine earlier on this afternoon. I now cant access certain sites such as www.bbc.co.uk and www.neowin.net even www.ntlworld.com doesnt work! yet my friend who lives 6 miles from me has no problems at all. Other sites work when they want but its really slow, and then not all the graphics load.

Having the same problems on my pc as well as my mac so I know its not my computers fault. I have done the usual and rebooted, unplugged, renewed ip etc and its still the same.

Anyone else ever had something like this happen to them or having the same problems at the moment?

I am in north manchester so if anyone else is having the same issues could let me know then I know its not just me

Thanks

Forgot to say as well I can't ping any website at all

Not sure but are the proxy's not turned off now in South and North Manchester ? Try not using one at all and then try this link to find out if you are using a proxy or not.

Same problem in Oldham earlier, now sorted here as well.
Just ntl making the final tweaks before they press the big red flashing 20 meg switch.

I don't think so. Do you honestly think there is any work other than emergency being carried out on the network on Christmas eve. Ntl do some silly things from time to time, But mess with the network on Christmas eve is not one of them.

Do Network Freeze and Christmas mean anything to you, Because that is what we have at the moment.

Make sure you have removed any proxy you had set as there are NO proxies turned on in Manchester.

That is impossible as the proxies are all in 1 rack and they have been set to off. Double check you have not set a proxy as there is no way the baguley proxies are turned on.

You appear to be an ntl Customer
Your IP address 86.11.241.+++
You do not appear to be using a Proxy Server

They will only show up if you have explicitly set one.
