Is this normal?
I keep getting Port 1337 scanned on Telewest broadband by 193.38.113.34 which resolves to scanner.abuse.blueyonder.co.uk. Which is really scaring me, as it probably would anyone else.
Especially so as i ran a personal music server (with user/password setup) to get at my music collection from college on port 1337. However, this thing, whatever it is, has pinged me so many times over the past week or so (i ended my server about a week ago, as college ended) it's starting to worry me somewhat more...
Any reason they should do this? Apart from utilising 45kbps upstream everytime i request a song for about 4mins or so?

I think its because viruses operate out of that port (shadyshell).
So its just checking to see if you are affected.

It's probably just checking your server is secure. The scanning has been going on for years
Google but your usage of that port probably made them interested enough to make sure your server isn't wide open for abuse.

Thankyou all so much, made me feel alot better  Not worried any more.
Now to look up the legalities of sending my own music to me over the net...
