Need Some help Choosing News server!

Ok I'm with Shemes.com And pay £11per month for 45Gb Via Payal, this may seem alot but two good things about them are that, I can have up to 30 Connections, and The account gets reset on the 1st Of each month, So If i were to get an account of 45Gb per month on the 16th Dec that gets Reset to 0, but my account still runs until 16th Jan, So £11 for 90GB!!!.

But being a hefty user and getting my Xmas stocking fillers, I've already hit that 45gb after just 2 weeks.

Shemes.com don't sell unlimited accounts, but there are some that do namely newsdemon and giganews, Although I've heard alot about giganews I can't sign up there because they dont have an option for Solo Debit Cards. only Credit cards which I cant have.

So What I really want to know is that has anybody here managed to signup for giganews with a debit card and how?. If not then maybe my only option is newsdemon although not many people reccomend them therefore delaying my choice.

Also newshosting, and lots of others are all Amex, maestro,Visa card payments.

Can anybody suggest the best thing for me to do!.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Need Some help Choosing News server!

I couldnt say but as the op wants to pay using solo and as far as I know newsdemon are the only company that do. If you have other means of payment im a giganews fan all the way. Please whatever you do dont offer to use me as a referee as I have had my character called into question. Giganews are the best thats the only reason I recommend them

Re: Need Some help Choosing News server!

giganews are a huge concern with US and EU clusters they will turnover an absolute fortune, they aint gonna keep hold of ya if you dont wanna stay. make life easy for yourself and subscribe to newzbin saves a lot of time and gets rid of the need for downloading headers.Just import the nzb files for each download into the newsreader of your choice I use newsbin pro but grabit is liked

There are a lot of different news readers in use, but they all need the following to connect to Giganews:

Server: news.giganews.com (North America) or news-europe.giganews.com (Europe)
Authentication: Check box "Required" or "Authentication Required"
    username: Your Giganews Username
    password: Your Giganews Password

Re: Need Some help Choosing News server!

All ok, Very helpful backup as well, they now have a 24 Hr Instant messaging service that you can you to talk to support. only took them 30 Secs to reply.

Its a bit weird that sometimes The downloads will drop out to 0Kb's for a few moments, then start backup at full speed again. Is this something I read in another post about NTL traffic shaping.? or something totally different.?

Regards

FYI Newzbin isn't taking on new members any more, and no news on when they will be.

With immediate effect, we are no longer accepting any new user signups/registrations.

Why are we doing this?
The primary reason is that we simply feel we have enough members now. The hardware behind the site is not going to cope with much more load without significant overhaul, and we want to keep the site quick and responsive for our existing members.

Additionally, we are finding that we're getting to the stage where we're physically unable to respond in a timely manner to all the emails we get - most of them are from new members. By stopping new signups, the amount of emails we get will hopefully decrease - giving us time to work on the new Newzbin site instead.

We may move to a restricted signup (probably 10 or 20 per day, something like that) in the future if it looks workable, or perhaps a "introduce a member" scheme. We'd be happy to read suggestions along those lines - please feel free to comment.
