Slow NTL connection
First off all, sorry for swearing, but this is just beyond a joke now and I just wanna punch something. For the last month or so, My NTL connection has been **** poor.
I know its something to do with NTL... both my pcs suffer this.
When it goes down, it goes down and I cannot access nothing. I try pinging stuff when this happens and I get 75% packet loss everytime. This happens very frequently, every day of my worthless fricking life, I just gotta leave it and come back later... but why I am paying £40 a month for this ****>
dont get me started on my gaming experience...
I just give up and I dont know what to do, I dont fancy calling the Cowboys at tech support because they'll only feed me some bull****. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON !!!!
my modem is that ****ty silver 200 model and I run the latest Linksys router, not wireless with dd-wrg firmware.
help me god

Re: Slow NTL Connection
I think you are going to have to ring them to be honest.
Could you do a speed test and post the results here?

Re: Slow NTL Connection
If you don't ring them and let them know, you will have no case for a credit for loss of service.

Re: Slow NTL Connection
if you ring them, and they don't do anything, I may be able to refer the problem to the site's contacts. However, if you don't ring, I won't be able to.

Re: Slow NTL Connection
Have you tried a speed test without the router.
CS may ask this.

Re: Slow NTL Connection
As above you need to remove the router for testing purposes, if it still does it then you MUST ring NTL or nothing will ever change.

Re: Slow NTL connection
Sorry
Ok I release & renew my IP by plugging the ntl modem directly in. (no router)
It has changed my IP, so I am hoping it will now work, although i have not tested the router yet.
Maybe the problem lies within my router, but this has been fine for the last year, just the last few weeks getting problems. Maybe ntl's lines dont like linksys?
And whats that Terayon /Terajet modems no longer work thread, is the NTL-200 modem the same?^
thanks for all the suggestions

btw i meant mentally punch something, I wouldnt risk breaking my fists for the likes of ntl, although many css moments make me dream going up into customer support with an ak, ok i am insane... :|
