connection loss

hi

i have another problrm
my internet connection keeps disconnecting randomly.
the modem just stays the same, no lights flash or anything and if i simply unplug the usb cable from the modem to my pc and reconnect it works again.
this is really annoying in the middle of pes4 match online.
i cant figure out wat is wrong
is it something to do with my computer or the service?

Re: connection loss

If the lights on the modem aren't changing and connection resumes when you pull and replace the USB then it's probably PC based.
Have you got any firewalls that might be interfering with the connection? Are you restricted to USB or do you have a NIC installed?
Does it happen only when you are using your connections in certain ways or randomly?

Re: connection loss

could also be the pc is disabling one or more of the usb ports if u have a power schem enabled..

u can check if u have power management enabled on the usb ports by going to the control panel... double click the system icon,, then onto the hardware tab...then the device manager button....
at the bottom of the list there shoud be the universal serial bus controllers... if the list isnt expanded just click on the + symbol by the side of it to give you the usb root hubs.

right click on each one ...if there's more than one... and choose properties... then click on the power management tab at the top... and untick the box for 'allow the computer to turn off this device'

hopefully should sort it for u... or worth a try anyways...

Re: connection loss

Have you checked your signal strength?
Also are you clean as far as virus, trojan and spyware etc are concerned?
Does the connection drop even if only the PC is connected?

Re: connection loss

It doesn't as far as I know but normally the computer will only power down USB ports that aren't in use as it's part of power management.
