Hello. I have an ntl cable modem and want to move it to a building in my garden about 50ft away. I know it usually takes several weeks to get this done by ntl engieers and takes several weeks at least to get this done by ntl and last time they didnt turn up each time I arranged for them and takes v long phone calls on hold. Is there any companies or freelance ex ntl engineers who anyone knows or coudl recommend who can do this type of work in stevenage area? I would extend the cable myself but believe there is settings which need to be alterered to ensure a good signal strength so like it done right
If it's just a cable modem that you want to move (and not an STB) then why not leave the modem where it is and use a long CAT5 cable or even a wireless setup instead.
