New Modem comin in the morning

So I have a new modem coming (thankx to one of the NTL employees who visit here)

It's to replace my Samsung STB 1Mb (sick of packet loss) Couple of questions.

1. Am I being charged for this modem?

2. Will it require any more drilling into the house?

p.s was it normal for ntl to send us letters asking us to confirm our direct debit?

1 : No (although you may have to sign A new 12 month contract, not sure though),
and 2: No, the feed is the same as the TV, so it would just require a bit more cable to the SACM.

yes it is normally, i believe that is when you obtain your copy of the direct debit guarantee
