I think the 100's are for Langley (DOCSIS) Platform and the 120's are for the Bromley (EuroDOCSIS) Platform - not sure mind???
and i think the 200's are coloured coded to try and stop people sticking the end of their USB cable into their ethernet socket lol

Re: What is the differene between the ntl/Ambit modems - models 100, 120, 200?
Almost there. The 100 modems only work on the Langley network, but the 120 and 200 work on both. This is because the 120 and 200 support both DOCSIS and EuroDOCSIS. The 200 modem also has the capacity to support DOCSIS 2.0 in the future, and is colour-coded, but it doesn't stop people sticking things in the wrong sockets!

Quite correct. Pace 1000,2000,4000 STBs, Samsung 2100 STBs, Ambit 120s and 200s are the only equipment used on the EuroDOCSIS parts of ntl (all former CWC areas and Westminster).
