For those keeping up with the timeline it was great to see that Catherine's finally made an appearance

Apparently next season she'll be playing them both in the same timeline. So it won't be flashbacks anymore! I hope we get a good few scenes of Catherine/Katherine(pretty sure in the books it's the second one) with Elana.

Im surprised this never had a thread either - ive been watching it from the start.

Yep, it was nice to finally see Kathryn, and see John get what he deserved ....

Im still a bit baffled as to why the device affected the Mayor and his son as they are not vampires ...

OK, that's 3 spellings of Catherine/Katherine/Kathryn.. I think I'll check on IMDB

OK, IMDB's episode guide spells it as

Katherine

Paul as far as the now deceased Mayor and his still alive son by the look of it they were not entirely human especially by the reaction of the eyes when Tyler was on the floor with the paramedics just before he woke back up..

So what are they??

Mind you Bonnie isn't entirely normal yet still human
