Re: CR3 and Channel Re-numbering to take place in MARCH!
March is still Q1 2004.
I don't think any Ntl employees have said that April is the date being planned.

If we took it from NTL employees it would have been just before the last world cup

Re: CR3 and Channel Re-numbering to take place in MARCH!
Three things...
1. Is the ex-c&w EPG the same (colour etc) as out original one?
2. What interactive services (on what channels etc) do ex-c&w areas currently have (can you name all please) and will we get these when CR3 launches?
3. Can anyone post any screenshots of the CR3 that ex-c&w areas have (I know it will not be the same as ours, I just want to have a look).
Thankyou.

Having just moved from an exCWC area to an orig area, I feel I'm qualified to answer these...

Yes, the colours are pretty much identical. exCWC doesn't put the ntl logo in the top corner of the screen with every channel change though!

From memory: - A text service on channel ntl explaining how things work
- The BBCi bridge on BBC1 and BBC2, mainly with links to the walled garden
- Live BBC feeds like Fame Acadamy, Christmas promotions + Full interactive multiscreening for BBC sports
- E4 had a really poor Big brother thing last summer (Though they had that before CR3 - now it just comes with red dot!)

DigitalSpy can sort you out here - http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/screen.p...=1&type=ntlcr3
Hope that helps.

Re: CR3 and Channel Re-numbering to take place in MARCH!
There was also a play-along 15-to-1 game available when CR3 first launched, but I don't know if it's still there (no longer a student, so I'm not at home in the afternoons any more ).
We've had pretty much the same range of BBCi apps (on BBC 1 and 2) as have appeared on satellite since Wimbledon. A distict lack of things on other channels though...

Re: CR3 and Channel Re-numbering to take place in MARCH!
Apart from the BBC what other decent ETV apps would people want? Serious question this, 'cause all I've noted which are worthy apps are:
Sky News multiscreens (The BBC 24 would be nice too)
Sky Sports Extra multi screens.
Big Brother / The Salon / Other reality show on E4/C4.
About it. Everything else seems to be adverts? This is just from my observations of flicking through Sky.

Okies, more?
I wanna build up a list of good etv apps so that when ntl do eventually launch Langley's upgrade we can check off what we'd like to see.

How will this voting work for ntl down the cable. Will we see micro (or not so micro) charges on the bill in place of the call costs?

Re: CR3 and Channel Re-numbering to take place in MARCH!
Good question.
I'd reckon they would have to bring in a charge for interactive voting to stop people constantly re-voting.

Re: CR3 and Channel Re-numbering to take place in MARCH!
well currently on ex-cwc, you have two way tv games - which you have to pay for, and i appears on your ntl bill. i would presume that billing through the cable network is easy, as it's been going on for years!

Never knew that - The PPV movies are the same I suppose and the revenue from those must be shared with FrontRow so the revenue sharing systems must be in place.
You'd think that they would be in more of a rush to get interactive out if it can generate additional revenue through the interactive options.
Does NTL host all the interactive sites or do they pass through to the originators site? Just wondering for things like the real time voting. These need to be passed to the collation system in a timely manner.
