All CR3 upgrades to original areas should be complete by mid-July if there is no problems rolling it out. The proposed date of 20th April has stuck now for almost 2 weeks so I sure this is when the first releases will start to happen. All current leaflets about the CR3 upgrade are reeady and promos for CR3 to be released on the channel ntl/buy ntl channels are nearing completion. Customers will be notified by ntl via the leaflets to tune to channel 120 for the latest news and info about the release and to see when there area will be upgraded with the software release. That's all I have to say at this time but I can give more info nearer the time as I can't give too much detail on the matter away.

You can't give too much detail away as you don't have any.
There are no hard and fast dates as things are still being sorted out.
Stop passing on potential dates as that is all they are, potentials.

Re: CR3 and Channel Re-numbering to take place in MARCH/April!
Propin' I have clearly posted that 20th April is only a proposed date for the release as I wouldn't want anyone to get their hopes up on this one, I am just saying that as this date has been proposed by ntl for nearly the past 2 weeks then it is looking promisingly that it will be either this date or a close day to it. Obviously a lot of things can happen from now untill 20th April so I urge people reading my post not to get their hopes up and don't go quoting what I say as definate as it is only what ntl have proposed to us. Although ntl don't pass too much info on to us, I know quite a bit about the upgrade and am keeping well informed by my managers, like you said yourself things are still being sorted out readying original ntl areas for the upgrade, but 20th April is a proposed date when everything should be sorted out and ready for release, ntl have set the deadline for 8-11 April (can't be sure as I am at home) so they can meet the proposed date of 20th April, but like I said anything could happen...

I will be doing the first and first few regions to get the rollout, I will make the changes to the kit to make it happen. My guys will do all of them ultimately. I'm fully aware of whats going on and any current issues. You are raising hope with your potential dates. Why do you think those dates are not made public? Because when those dates slip ntl are seen as the bad guys. Thats due to people like you.

Re: CR3 and Channel Re-numbering to take place in MARCH/April!
I work for ntl and as I shouldn't have really told the date of the first release I did because I am sick of ntl fobbing their customers off! The CR3 rollout was due to happen at the start of March but it didn't and I didn't post any info on the matter then but ehy should I protect ntl any longer as I am one of their customers that is sufering from it, I too live in an original ntl area and believe me I am just as sick of the delays as every one else is, the only advantage I have is the fact that I know when the last proposed date was for the release of CR3 and I know the next one, I know I shouldn't raise people's hopes with news like this but if CR3 fails to show before the end of April it will not be my fault buy ntl's and they should be more consistant in what they are doing. I do not work on the software upgrades at ntl but I am updated on issues like this all the time by friends etc. Why should I protect ntl and their mistakes just because I work for them? It isn't justified in that way and I am not willing to carry on not acknowledging that there isn't people out there dissapointed that this upgrade isn't showing. There next proposed date is 20th April and I am sorry if you haven't heard yet Propin' but it is almost 2 months away, I hope that ntl do start to roll it out here!

Re: CR3 and Channel Re-numbering to take place in MARCH/April!
The thing is, Langley people are after all the flashy e-TV things that their neighbour's Sky boxes have been doing for years (and even a £50 Freeview box can do).
At the end of the day CR3 is a peice of software, and software is always late. But that doesn't deter the manufactures from announcing what the new software will do, and when they *hope* it will be ready. In this way they hope to stop people going to their competitors before the product is released.
Yet we've heard none of this from NTL. I don't think there's ever actually been an official statement saying that they are planning to have e-TV content on the Langley network (only indirectly through the BBC).
It's not often I disagree with you Proppin', and I don't think we're entirely at odds on this one. You're right that people shouldn't be posting unofficial dates on the forum. That's because there should already be an official target date released by the company...

I agree with you completely Tristan! Why should I protect ntl when they treat their own customer and dirt? We don't get treated all that better either.

You have no idea about what is going on. We are working behind the scenes to sort out the issues and all you can do is try to grab the limelight.

Re: CR3 and Channel Re-numbering to take place in MARCH/April!
From what I see here there is only one person trying to grab the limelight.
Respect to Sky for being the one person to admit the dates are put back - the first time it has happened in the last two years until after the proposed rumour date has passed - thank you!

Glad to hear it's not just vapourwear then
Good luck ironing the bugs out (how do you iron a bug - it would make a mess like when it hits the windscreen - perhaps you should pick bugs out like a baboon picks bugs). Another 6 weeks certainly won't kill us all, its nice to hear progress.
I assume the good 'ol 80/20 rule is in play here - 20% of the development time got 80% of it working properly, the other 80% is currently being consumed fixing that last darn 20%.

Sorry but no-one has ever given an exact date for the upgrades to start (except $ky) so no-one can say the dates are put back.
Just wait and see what happens over the next few weeks. I've always thought it would be started in March sometime. Come back in 29 days and see what has happened.

Personally, I do not think that announcing that the update will take place between 20th April and mid-July would get anybody's hopes up! The fact that everybody else seems to want to supress this information would imply that the chances of all Langley areas being updated by mid-July are pretty slim
