gallego1 is an unknown quantity at this point
Linux Modems

Does anyone know if there is a linux compatible 56k modem available anywhere.

The only ones I can find are the hcf/hsf type winmodems which are incompatible

You shoud be able to find external hardware modem's kicking about still, e.g. http://web6.scan.co.uk/Products/Info.asp?WPID=1866
