Does your TV not have two scart sockets?

Yes you need an adapter, especially if your TV does not either have 2 scart sockets or AV phono inputs.
It can cost you as little as £2 for this.

Re: ntl digibox & xbox
Basically you can get an adaptor that will accept (for example) 4 SCART sockets, & it in turn plugs into the SCART socket on the back of your TV.
HTH.

You are mistaken.
It happens like this: if the NTL box detects a switching signal and an incoming picture on the VCR scart, it will send the picture straight through the TV scart to the display. It's even decent enough to pass through RGB signals.
With CR3 (I'm not sure about other software versions), switching the STB to standby and back again will cause the STB to 'take charge' again and send the digital picture to the TV (and probably to the VCR too, as scarts allow simultaneous two-way traffic). You then have to set it to standby again to watch the vided/DVD/game/whatever.
I hope I've explained that well enough!

Yup that's what happenes with cr3 around here. also work on my 2 at home, the vcr and dvd only take over when the digi is on standby, or dvd for some reason take control. then switch digi box back on it kicks of the vcr scart and has the main tv digibox veiwing..
Same works with xbox and ps2. etc etc.. this even works if you have a scart multi-tap thingie... aslong as it's plugged into the digi in the vcr scart socket it see's a signal.
or if you have a second scart input like most new tv's just use that for your dedicated games input, put dvd and vcr via the digi

Re: ntl digibox & xbox
So are you saying that the xbox can be plugged into the VCR SCART socket of the STB and then the TV plugged into the other SCART socket of the STB.
And this will work.
By the way, the normal Xbox lead uses A/V only not the switching pins.

Re: ntl digibox & xbox
If I wanted to connect my DVD player to the VCR Scart in this way (only one of the Scarts on my TV will accept an RGB signal and I'd like to use RGB on both my STB and DVD player) would there be any problems due to the Macrovision on the signal from my DVD player or would it pass the signal to my TV 'as-is'?
