Can a Mod Investigate
I raised a point in another thread of how does an NTL subscriber get to watch NASCAR as it's no longer going to be shown on NASN as its being moved to NASN Extra (from 01/10). I now understand that this is going to be on Rangers TV so the facility is available on NTL to see the remainder of the NASCAR season through NTL but at the extra cost of Rangers TV
Can a mod ask a question of NTL
NASN's advertising stated that all NASCAR Nextel Cup Races would be shown live or as live. People would have taken a contract out with NTL for NASN (to get the one year subscription price) on this basis. The way the contract is structured with NTL, NASN is still seperate from Setanta sports, therefore, to move NASCAR coverage away from NASN, breaches the original package contract. Is this correct? If so will NASN subscribers receive free Rangers TV?
Personally i have just subscribed to Rangers TV, however im not happy with how NASN have handled this and cannot contact anyone there who understands the issue. I suspect NTL may not be aware of this issue.

RangersTV is a subscribe channel £6.99, the NASCAR for next weekend is on live from about 6pm to 10pm. I doubt NTL will send a signal to all NASN subscribers for this period and then take it away again. They would have to do that as the live showing is surrounding by normal Rangers TV programming. Surely this annoys Rangers fans too?
It is a good point though. Can a MOD also ask this question.

Re: Can a Mod Investigate
I'm sure rights information would change when they change the channel source..not totally sure, just an educated guess.

Maybe the content isnt covered
Maybe NASN have hoped NTL dont notive
Maybe it is a problem
Maybe maybe maybe
There's no point in guessing as you cant do anything with a guess, hence why i would like someone to ask NTL the question to a person who either understands the contract or can find out.

Re: Can a Mod Investigate
I suspect NTL have no control over it.

Which is a fair point to make. No reason why NASN couldnt wave the Rangers TV charges for NASN subscribers on NTL, if they wanted to do the right thing

Re: Can a Mod Investigate
the content isnt provided or controlled by ntl, if a provider decides to stop showing something or move it to another channel there isnt anything ntl can do about it, your better off taking it up with the channel provider

You seem to have missed the point. NASN advertised that x number of live races would be shown live on NASN. Yes NTL cant control that, however NTL also dont offer the Setanta package which would include the channel that the races will be shown on. As a result an NASN subscriber via NTL would now have to subscribe to 2 channels which isnt what was advertised.

Re: Can a Mod Investigate
You'll probably find the ad had some disclaimer, like "Details correct at time of publishing".

No it didnt, in fact it still states it on the NASN web site
http://www.nasn.com/content/nasn/por...t/NASCARonNASN
the important part being
Quote:
NASN Schedule Low-down
· All 37 Nextel Cup races live or as-live and interrupted.
· Every race repeated the next day.
· A weekly highlights programme rounding up all the action
|
1. All races wont be shown live on NASN
2. There will no longer be repeats the following day (AFAIK)
3. There will be no highlights program (AFAIK)
Can some please ask the question to the NTL contacts that the team have

Re: Can a Mod Investigate
The question is in the first post, along with Zingles post (post 2)
Yes i have asked but the guy on the call centre didnt even know that he could add rangers tv to my package so you can guess what his answer was "I dont know"
