Thumbs down TV all dead in SK10

All channels went dead at 00:20 today and has not come back, now its 1:20am, wouldn't dare reboot the STB as my BB came through it, last time it happened I rebooted the STB and lost BB as well for a few days. I hope someone will fix it fast.

Re: TV all dead in SK10

It could be the software update that will make way for VOD; rebooting is the only way to install the update. Consult the rollout schedule (http://www.home.ntl.com/page/vodavailability) to see if it is.

Re: TV all dead in SK10

Soon after I typed the above post, BB went dead as well. It all came back on its own the next morning, with the same software, so I don't think it was a software update, just the usual area fault. I rebooted this morning and got the new software.

Re: TV all dead in SK10

All channels went off the air around midnight YET AGAIN last night, don't know when it came back cos I was so fed up I went to bed, it did come back this morning. To be honest I am a bit tired of this so call "area faults" coming so regularly now. BT, BSkyB and may be Pipex came into mind, a few more of these outage NTL will be history.

Re: TV all dead in SK10

Have you called faults for any explaination? Once or maybe twice could be network upgrades, but after that it's a bit much.

When it happened it was midnight, I think faults dept are closed, this morning, it came back on, no point wasting a phone call to them.

Re: TV all dead in SK10

But if it keeps repeating at night, and you are not happy that it does keep repeating, you've got to make your views known. Maybe try Responsetek if you can't be bothered to phone?

Re: TV all dead in SK10

Thanks, I already wrote to Responsetek on both occasions, just hope somebody will take notice. I wish they have a phone number like they do with Boradband, just an announcement of where faults are with Cable TV.

Re: TV all dead in SK10

TV went dead again last night at 11pm, in the middle of a star wars movie, how annoying can it be, it only came back after 3 hours.

Re: TV all dead in SK10

Well I'd ring them, doesn't matter what time the fault is occurring, it's there and needs to be sorted. I've used Responsetek twice and on both occasions got no response! So a phone call is best IMHO.

Badders is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: TV all dead in SK10

We're in SK6 and had some sort of power problem last night. The lights flickered a couple of times during Match of the Day. The STB showed LD20 and didn't work again until this morning.

Seems OK now - maybe check with your Power company.

Re: TV all dead in SK10

SK2 here, and everything dropped at 11 last night, telly and BB.
I knew it wasn't the BF2 server crashing when 2 lads instantly appeared at the door and asked if I had turned the internet off
