Mis-selling from sales
Hey all, new poster but hoping for some help. Current NTL telephone only customer.
My mum phoned me up the other day to tell me NTL had called and offered her a great deal. Telephone and free TV for £18. Asked my mum if she knew what telephone package they had sold her as i wasnt aware of one that cost £18. She didnt know. SO i gave them a call - she had been sold a free weekend calls package (£11 per month) plus the select pack (11.50 per month) for £18. Now bare in mind that she only has telephone only from them for £10.50 (old 3-2-1 tariff) they have basically put her on a slightly more expensive telephone package and charged her £7 for the tv, having originally told her she would get free calls and free TV, this is clearly not the case and they have upped her monthly bill by £7 with no real benefit to her. She doesnt want to pay for the TV! I called them and told them to cancel the installation as she had been mis-sold. They told me it had been cancelled and they would put a complaint through but i am not hopeful of getting a reply. I am absolutely disgusted at NTL for mis-selling and making an average deal that any customer could get sound good. They started with the opening line of "as you have been a loyal customer for 6 years"!!
If the TV had been free as my mumhad been told then we would only be paying £11 per month.
So anyone know what i should do, i think its disgusting that she was misled in this way. She only agreed to it as the telephone bill is quite high every month and she thought the £18 deal was going to get her considerably lower phone bills - which it wont as it is no better than the tariff she is on.
ANyway, sorry for waffling, anyone have any ideas on what to do with NTL's blatant lying and mis-selling?
Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

As far as i know these responses are always read & replied to, and is a probably a good supplement to your complaint.
Good job you were able to intervene, in time

I have only used it once, but I did get a reply ??
If you don't, then post back on here & I'm confident it will be dealt with, my understanding is that feedback using responsetek is taken seriously??
