Sky 1 on NTL Analogue

hi!

I have NTL analogue (yes I know but my parents say they don't need digital yet and will wait longer before going digital- tut!) and for the last couple of days we have been unable to get Sky 1.

We were getting it find until Tuesday but now its not coming through. All other channels are fine though anyone got any ideas whats up? I really don't wanna ring up NTL cos they do my head in.

Exclamation Re: Sky 1 on NTL Analogue

if its not a specific fault in your area then it could be down to the warm weather we ve been having.Missing channels can be down to poor signals @ the stb.increased signal loss can happen when the external cables heat up?

Interestingly it should also work out cheaper.. well it did for me. I kept putting it off because everytime I went on the website to work out how much I'd be paying for a similar package it worked out a lot more.

Anyway I phoned to ask what had happnened to Disney Cinemagic (I used to have disney, that dissapeared and was replaced with Cinemagic.. then my stb died and once that as replaced, no disney channels at all), I was told I couldn't get it, what about digital... anyway I'm now paying about a 5er a month less for a lot more channels.. although flicking up and down is a bit slower now, and the new analog set to box they took away had a proper timer.. which I now miss (being able to set it up to switch on and change to a channel the same time each day was nice)... anyway... oh and I now also have free phone calls at weekends...
have fun
Steve

Re: Sky 1 on NTL Analogue

its free to upgrade but the price will go up per month..
and as zeph pointed out, being atv he should get A picture wether it is clear or extreamly grainy, or does the stb show a green screen on sky1??
level fluctuation is about +/- 5 dbv..

That depends.. mine actually went down!..(it surprised me, I had to ask them to check the price a couple of times, then after checking the website rang again to make sure I was getting the package I thought as I couldn;t get the numbers to add up) anyway its worth giving them a call, and while complaining about a missing sky 1, ask how much the equvialent digital package would be..
