Tvdrive problems with LG RZ-32LZ50

I had tvdrive installed Monday and bought a cable today to connect from the HDMI port to my TVs DVI port, the TV is a LG RZ-32LZ50 and the DVI port accepts HDCP encryption and supports 720 progressive scan. However when I connect up the cable and switch to HD all I see is the Telewest graphics but the picture is black or non-existent. Ive tried rebooting the box and doing the "hold play and stop" trick and boot in HD several times, but still no picture. Anyone got any ideas? Here is the link to the cable I bought, should this do the job?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=9704513102

The only thing I can spot is the cable is single link and the DVI cable I use to connect to my PC is dual link, does this matter? Any help will be most appreciated.

Re: Tvdrive problems with LG RZ-32LZ50

Does your tv have scart socket?
I dont have an hdtv yet, but am getting one next month, at the moment i have Telewest Broadband TVDRIVE installed yesterday and is working fine, try just using scart and call Telewest in the morning. Or it could be that you have both scart cable and the HDMI cable both connected, it might confuse the TVDRIVE box. Also have you gone to the Home Page and changed the settings from wide screen to HDTV?
Give it a try if no luck call TELEWEST suppoet they should be able to help.

Hope it goes ok for you.

I have the same tv and had the same problem except when I change the display settings to what the booklet says and then try the test again like the booklet said my screen goes blank and when the picture comes back my settings have defaulted back to what they were.

Any help would be appreciated.

@wanos first connect your tv via scart, switch off tv and Vbox then switch on both and go to settings and change: TVdisplay format to Hidef HDMI, and V+ box HiDef outpout 1080/1080wide, set HDMI audio override ON if you want to enjoy digital sound DD or 5.1,you need connect Vbox to home cinema using optical cable.

I've the same tv and works well with Vbox.

Re: Tvdrive problems with LG RZ-32LZ50

Thanks for above, I'm having same problem.

I've set up the HDTV to the TVDrive using scart, have gone into both TV & TVDrive settings to amend the settings, plugged in the HDMI lead but the settings keep resetting back to default.

I've contacted VM, but they say they can't help until I advise them of the channel No? I have no idea what they are talking about. I don't have to put the TV on any channel no, it just automatically switches onto VM as soon as I turn TV on.

Any help would be appreciated as having splashed out on new HDTV I would like to be able to view it in HD!

Re: Tvdrive problems with LG RZ-32LZ50

In defence of the customer service reps, to say they say stupid things is wrong. Not knowing exactly what training or what help programmes they have set up on the many different TV makes and models and how connecting a TVDrive/V+ will in each case be different because of this.

So i can only imagine that the TVDRIVE/V+ STB's have created a whole new problem that i'm sure will need alot more phone calls into CS that probably aren't anything specific to the STB but more like the issue on how the TV is set up in conjunction with the STB.

Not every CS rep is an expert in TV setup's, so will probably say something rather than nothing in trying to help the customer.
