someone is being optimistic
it sounds good in the meeting, so long as someone else takes the blame, when it doesn't happen ....

So when do the redundancies at Telewest or NTL start? Before or after the rebranding?

Re: CITV Channel
Thanks...... If the "Nick" channels show ITV shows, I wonder what happens to these channels when CITV fully launches to all plaforms....

Possibly but we always seem to know well in advance of channels launching on Sky.

Agreed. I think it will be a while before the channel line-ups are the same. After all, ntl still has not managed to make its systems run as one several years after ntl acquired Cable and Wireless's domestic customers.

I did laugh when I read this post. Mind you, ntl carrys many childrens' channels so it patently doesn't hate children. However, I see that none of the gay TV channels or radio stations have appeared. After all, ntl carries a dating channel for heterosexuals but chooses not to carry the dating channel from the same company which is for gay men and gay women.

Sky tend to announce these things when the deal has been signed (which may be several months before launch). NTL announce channels upon launch.

Do you know for a fact that ntl choose not to carry a particular channel?
Are you sure its isnt the case that the channel isnt putting up the dosh to get carriage?

After all, if you have limited funds with which to launch a channel, it would make more sense to launch on the platform with the greatest number of potential viewers first. IIRC, Cable is behind both Freeview and Sky in that respect.
