tuning in remote

I Have Just Recently Acquired A Second Ntl Box To Enable Me To Watch Other Channels In Another Room.
The Problem Is That I Have To Have Both Boxes Close To Each Other And Use A Digital Sender Beacause I Am Not Allowed To Drill The Walls To Feed A Cable Upstairs (rented House). Wen I Turn Channel Using The Remote Which Is Used For The Set Top Box Wich Is Tuned To The Downstairs Television 9 Times Out Of 10 It Changes The Channel On The Second Set Top Box Over Due To The Close Proximity Of Both Set Top Boxes (approx 18 Inches Apart).
Is There Any Way I Can Tune The Remote To Just Change One Set Top Box.

I don't think there is a way to change the frequence the remotes use. I could be wrong.

Can you not move one STB away from the other? (If only slightly)

Be very precise about the positioning of the sender. It should be possible to site it within a couple of centimetres of the front panel of the STB.

Actually,if you position the second STB and sender behind something, the something may block the signal from the sender to the first STB, but still enable the sender to send to the second STB.
