I have a Samsung STB with 2 Scart ports, a Sony VCR/DVD with 2 scart ports and a Phillips TV with two scart ports and wish to record my chosen NTL signal whislt watching another cable channel.

Not possible as the STB only has one tuner. The only way to watch 2 cable channels (or watch one and record another) is to have 2 STBs.
