Recording Problem

Until an NTL PVR comes out I'm using a cheap Goodmans DVD/HD recorder. I've got the SCART cabling right and can record all channels to HD but some channels (Sky One, SSky two, SciFi, Living and some others) come out on playback with a lot of flicker/display errors. All the BBC/ITV channels, Discovery, UKTV and others record and play back OK.

Anybody had similar recording problems. Is it the DVD Recorder and if so why are only some channels effected. Using a Pace box in Bromley area, sure I've set-up the SCART connections correctly, am definitely recording through the SCART (no aerial/analog connection).

Obvious things to check:
Scart leads are pushed fully into sockets.
The STB output is compatible with the DVD/HD input - RGB - SVHS or whatever

Quality of the scart leads can also be an issue too.

Don't know if this will apply but our DVD recorder needs to have the digital chanels "decoded" (special box to tick) to get a decent picture.

Is it the same with movies?

Could be macrovision
