New TV getting interferance
Hi there, just picked up a new tv (LCD) and I seem to be getting interferance from the set top box (silver one). They can be descibed as light coloured ripples going down the screen maybe 2 or 3 seconds to cross, top to bottom. I remember seeing once that the box can be fiddled with somehow if you get interferance but a seach didn't turn up anythign. Anyone got the link, or have any ideas?
Cheers, chris

Re: New TV getting interferance
How are you connecting your new tv to the set top box?
Hopefully, you should have a scart lead doing the work, has the new tv got scart or other input sockets (besides aeirial RF lead)?
If AV1 on tv accepts RGB input, use oxygen free fully wired scart cables (argos sell them) to connect the STB this way.

If this doesn't cure the problem, please post back here, and I'll help further.

Re: New TV getting interferance
Hi.
I'm having the same problem with my new Beko (Cheapo!) 26" LCD too.
I'm fairly sure its because the TV is crap though. It only happens when set to RGB, and occurs with my DVD player as well, so I can't blame the cable box.
I've tried a new SCART lead (a decent one from Maplin) and although it may be a little better, the problem is still there.
Any suggestions (other than to ring Beko!) gratefully accepted!
Thanks,
James

Re: New TV getting interferance
bluecube sorry would need more info on your fault, does it still appear when you disconnect the terrestrial aerial.
sl4yer, if it only happens on RGB then set your tv to composite, easy, fault fixed, unless there is something lying behind the scenes though.

Thanks, but yes, I know that. I much prefer the sharper RGB picture, but the interference does my head in! It doesn't bother the girlfriend though...
I need to get the 13 year old Grundig 32" fixed (STILL a better picture than ANY other television I've seen) and send the Beko upstairs to my computer. It works excellently as a monitor through the VGA input.
