IR Remote in - Di1010T Phase 1b box

Can anyone tell what this input at thr rear connection panel is?

Does it mean that I can connect a separate IR fibre optic cable to allow the box to be hidden. If so what is the cable reference, & where can I get one?

Also if I plug the box into an ethernet system, say Blueyonder broadband or my Apple Mac, what can I do with it?

Thanks for any assistance

Michael.

to CableForum.

I doubt the IR in port is enabled on the Telewest boxes. It isn't on the NTL boxes.

The ethernet port on the box is purely for providing broadband to a home computer or network. I am not sure if Telewest do broadband via Set Top Box, but if they do, and you have it, this is the port you connect to. Apart from that, it has no use.
