Is it possible to get a crossed phone line on NTL????

Re: crossed line???

I have got the wrong number a few times, which is confusing because the numbers are stored in my phone, and i have answered the phone to find 2 people talking but they couldnt here me, and it was a wired phone not wireless, as for resolving it i havnt a clue, it never happens when they check it.

Re: crossed line???

All it takes if for a installer to jumper up the E & D sides in the Mux or the D side in the cab.If one of the two wires is connected to a port on either side of your port, then you'll get a crossed line.If you dial 175,the exchange will say "You are connected to 123456789"
but if you hear a second number as well as your own, thats what's happened.
OR,if your number is a reclaimed BT number, they might hve re-issued your number to someone else as well as you!But thats rare.
