Football First / Match Choice on NTL
This is a question about the extended Premiership highlights shown every Saturday night called 'Match Choice and/or Football First.
I basically want to see the best/longest highlights of my team - Middlesbrough - after every match as MOTD on BBC1 often only shows a few minutes of footage (just the goals).
Although the interactive 'choice' element is unavailable to NTL users, Sky Sports 1 shows highlights all evening and into Sunday morning. Are these highlights just one match looped for 6 hours or do they change the game they show?
My question is this, do all the Premiership match highlights available on interactive get shown on NTL and if so, is there any way to find out what times so as to set the video to record the highlights I want to see?
Also, I would appreciate a quick lowdown on which Sky Sports programmes feature good Premiership (and League) highlights and when these are shown.
I had considered changing to NTL Radio Times but heard bad things about the delivery (late and sometimes not at all) - this is assuming the listings are extended in the NTL edition.
I've only had NTL TV for a few weeks now so please forgive my naivety.

Last season it was the same match repeated throughout the night. I'm not sure if they have changed it this year.

Is that just to promote their own 'interactive' services? It must be... it makes no sense to show the same match over and over. It must be just to make Sky seem better than cable for Football Fans - a major Sky selling point

Yeh , it's clearly against the rules on "Competition".
But ofcom seem to not care, and would much rather investigate boo's about Makosi from big brother.

Probably. You would think it would make sense to change it if only for the 'casual' fan after they have watched their own team.

Re: Football First / Match Choice on NTL
...anyway - I recorded 'Goals On Sunday' which i guess is Sky's equivalent of MOTD.
Does anyone know if there are midweek versions?

Re: Football First / Match Choice on NTL
I agree on the points made here, sky do repeat the same match again and again, and they could easily cycle the games and I think this is unfair to subscribers of SS1 who dont use sky digi, I did think ntl digital could use it before I read this. Ofcom unfortenatly dont like taking on big boys other then BT so I doubt they would do anything.

Re: Football First / Match Choice on NTL
actually, last season was the first year that Sky had Football First, and for the first 3-4 months of the season they did alternate (or NTL did) between the matches each night.
I know this for sure, because I had to stay up until around 4am to see my beloved Villa get hammered
Seriously, I cannot see why they have stopped it

Re: Football First / Match Choice on NTL
Best way to watch a LOT of LIVE premier matches FREE is to download pplive. They have early Saturday/3pm and Late Saturday Matches as well as the Sunday games. Midweek premiership matches are also shown live. (Most commentaries are in Chinese/Japanese.... not sure which!)
If there are no games on, they just show continuously the previous days game(s)
Better than Sky and NO extra cost.
I promise there's absolutely NO catch.
Broadband and Media player 9 or higher needed.

Never had a problem with delivery, but I don't think the listings are extended as presumably Sky decide on the day which matches are on at what times. (Can't check now as I'm at work)
